Loving Yeo-nion: Yeo Bee Yin weds son of palm oil, property tycoon

PUTRAJAYA: One of Malaysia’s most eligible bachelorettes is now off the market.

Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Minister Yeo Bee Yin tied the knot with IOI Properties Group Bhd chief executive officer Lee Yeow Seng in a low-key affair here, on Monday.

The couple’s marriage registration ceremony, which was held at a hotel owned by IOI Properties, was attended by close relatives only, Bernama reported.

Rumours of a romance between Yeo, 36, and the 40-year-old Lee – the youngest son of tycoon and IOI Group founder Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng (who, according to Forbes, is Malaysia’s fourth-richest man) – emerged in December after one of their friends uploaded their picture onto social media.

The IOI Group is one of Malaysia’s biggest conglomerates, with businesses in palm oil and real estate.

It is learnt that the couple will hold their wedding reception at Le Meridien Putrajaya on March 29.
