PUTRAJAYA: All 44 victims including the bus driver of the crash in Sepang last night were employees of Mutiara Kayamas Sdn Bhd, a company supplying foreign workforce.
Mutiara Kayamas Human Resources executive Nur Nadiah Wahab confirmed that the victims involved in the accident were its employees.
She said the employees were on their way to work for their night shift at the MAS Cargo Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
"Yes, all of the victims are employees of our company.
"The victims, are on service permit in Malaysia. They are employed at various jobs under the service line at the (MAS) cargo (complex) ," she said.
Nur Nadiah said at the moment the company is assisting those who are injured to get further treatment, she added.
"We will let the injured workers to rest first before we speak to them about accident.
"For employees who died, we will work in repatriating their bodies back to their home countries soon," she said.
Checks by New Straits Times revealed seven victims of the accident were discharged.
It is believed that they were being transferred by the employer to another private facility for further treatment.
Efforts to speak to the victims proved to be futile, as they were still traumatised over the accident.
