KUALA LUMPUR: A family of three was killed in a fire which completely destroyed their three-storey terrace house at Kampung Lindungan, Petaling Jaya, early this morning.
The two men and one woman, whose identities have not been established, are believed to have been trapped in the building, Bernama reported.
It is learnt that the blaze started on the ground floor of the home, which was originally a two-storey dwelling that was later renovated.
According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Norizham Mohd Nudin, they received an emergency call on the blaze at about 2.47am.
“20 firefighters and three fire engines from the Petaling Jaya and Subang Fire and Rescue stations were rushed to the scene and arrived at the location 12 minutes later,” he told Bernama.
Norizham added that the three bodies were sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for post-mortems.
