IPOH:Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah heads the list of 254 award and medal recipients in conjunction with Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah’s 63rd birthday today.
Al-Sultan Abdullah will be bestowed the Darjah Kerabat (DK) title.
Dewan Negara Perak secretary Datuk Ayob Hashim receives the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP) while Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador receives the Darjah Seri Pahlawan Taming Sari (SPTS), both carrying the title Datuk Seri.
Perak State Secretary Zainal Azman Abu Seman receives the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM), which bears the title Datuk.
Sultan Nazrin confers the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which carries the title Datuk on 12 people, including a Darjah Kehormat recipient.
They are state Islamic Religion and Education, Rural and Entrepreneur Development Committee chairman Asmuni Awi; state Public Facility, Infrastructure, Agriculture and Farming Committee chairman Abdul Yunus Jamhari; Malaysian High Commissioner to Britain Datuk Mohamad Sadik Kethergany; distinguished professor of economics at the Asia Europe Institute, Universiti Malaya, Rajah Rasiah; anaesthesia and intensive care department head at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital Dr Kavita M. Bhojwani; and Perak State Development director Zulazlan Abu Hassan.
The DPMP recipients include director of Research and Innovation Division of the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia Dr P. Chandrawathani; Perak Deputy Mufti Zamri Hashim; former Human Resources Ministry deputy secretary-general Lim Eng Hock; former director of Institut Aminuddin Baki Dr Mehander Singh Nahar Singh; Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy chairman Mohamed Azni Mohamed Ali; and Saudi ambassador to Malaysia Mahmoud H.S. Qattan, who receives the Honorary DPMP.
Four people receive the Darjah Datuk Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS), which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan. They are Defence Ministry’s Defence Engineering Services Division maintenance director Brigadier-General Mustaffa Othman; principal assistant director of Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (Governance/General Policing) Senior Assistant Commissioner Azizi Mat Aris; senior director of materiel Naval Base, Defence Ministry First Admiral Affenddy Suhaimi; and head of Army Medical Department, Tuanku Mizan Army Hospital, Brigadier-General Dr Rozali Ahmad.
Seven people receive the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM), while Bernama editor-in-chief D.R. Arul Rajoo was among 23 recipients of the Darjah Mahkota Perak (PMP).
Two Perak lawn bowlers who represented Perak in the sport, Syairah Mat Isa and Nur Fidrah Noh, are among 95 recipients of the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK).
Nine recipients receive the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM), Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP, 44 recipients), Pingat Pekerja Terpilih (PPT, 50 recipients) and Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP, six recipients).
Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Tan Sri Zahidi Zainuddin said the investiture ceremony for the Datuk Seri, Datuk and Datuk Pahlawan recipients would be held on Nov 10, while the honours and medals would be presented on Nov 16.
He added that the surah yasin recital,thanksgiving and prayer ceremony in conjunction with the sultan of Perak’s 63rd birthday would be held at all mosques in the state during Friday prayers today.
Zahidi said the royal banquet would be held at the Istana Iskandariah Banquet Hall at 8pm on Nov 9.
