BANGKOK: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad met with his Thai counterpart, General Prayuth Chan-o-cha, on the sidelines of the 35th Asean Summit and Related Summits here, today.
In their 45-minute meeting at the IMPACT Convention and Exhibition Centre here, the leaders discussed various issues of mutual interest, including the need to strengthen bilateral economic partnership.
Prayuth, who was voted Prime Minister after Thailand’s general election in June, also expressed support for Malaysia’s palm oil industry during the talk.
Dr Mahathir arrived in the Thai capital on Friday, accompanied by his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali and a delegation of Malaysian officials. – Bernama
