Ex-Cabinet minister exposed to Covid-19 patient undergoing tests

KUALA LUMPUR: A former Cabinet minister who was recently exposed to a Covid-19 patient will undergo checks at a general hospital near here, today.

According to sources, the former minister will be taking the necessary tests at a hospital in Serdang.

The source said the ex-minister shows no symptom of Covid 19 and has not been instructed to undergo quarantine.

On Feb 27, the former minister attended a dinner with a member of UDA Holdings Bhd’s board of directors, who has since tested positive for the coronavirus.

Yesterday, Khazanah Nasional Bhd confirmed that one of its staff members, who has a recent travel history to Shanghai, was among four new Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia by the Health Ministry.

There are now 29 Covid-19 cases in Malaysia.

Earlier today, PKR member Wong Chen called for health precautions to be taken after the former minister and a former deputy minister were found to have been exposed to another Covid-19 patient.
