KUALA TERENGGANU: If you came across some pictures on social media today of a Perodua Kancil inside the Terengganu Sultan Mahmud Airport in Kuala Nerus, your eyes were not playing tricks on you.
The situation at the airport today was slightly chaotic when a Perodua Kancil suddenly ended up in the airport building.
Did the driver mistake the airport terminal for a car park?
In the 5.30pm incident, a 55-year-old woman caused alarm amongst those at the airport when she drove into the arrival hall.
It is learned that the woman, a Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel, suffered from depression and did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
Kuala Terengganu/Kuala Nerus district APM officer Capt (PA) Ahmad Kamal Hakim Ngah said they received a distress call on the incident at 5.36pm and rushed to the scene.
Ahmad Kamal informed that upon seeing the APM ambulance at the airport, the woman immediately entered the vehicle.
"After about an hour, she was handed over to the police for further action," he said when contacted.
Kuala Terengganu district police chief Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Md Din confirmed receiving a report on the incident and informed that investigation was underway.
From the pictures shared of the incident, it did not look like the vehicle crashed into the airport, but more like it somehow ended up being driven into the building and parked in front of an area of kiosks.
