PUTRAJAYA: The compliance rate involving the Movement Control Order (MCO) nationwide has seen a three per cent improvement rate to touch the 95 per cent level. However there are still people who fail to adhere with the stay home directive.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said more people were complying with the MCO with hardly any vehicles being spotted in city or urban roads.
“However, we noticed that people who went back to their hometowns were trying to return today.
“Those (who are in their hometowns) considering to return to the city, please do not proceed with your plan. If you are in your home town, please stay there during the MCO period.
“If you are adamant by proceeding with your plans to head back, police would be left with no choice and will instruct you to return to your hometowns if you are stopped at roadblocks,” Ismail who is the Defence Minister told reporters here today.
He said police with the assistance of other security and enforcement agencies were conducting roadblocks at 23 toll plazas nationwide to ensure Malaysians comply with the MCO.
“According to the Inspector-General of Police (Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador), police had conducted 1,029 roadblocks to date.
“During the same period, police had also conducted 163,697 inspections on vehicles and 2,841 spot checks,” he said.
