No dine-in in Selangor, only takeaways, deliveries, drive-thru

KUALA LUMPUR: Food outlets in Selangor can only provide takeaways, deliveries and drive-thru service from 7am to 10pm.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari in a statement today said this was despite the Federal government's decision to allow dine-in under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

He said dine-in will not be allowed until further notice.

As for businesses without premises such as roadside stalls and food trucks, Amirudin said they can only operate after May 12, in order to give local councils and traders ample time to prepare for social distancing and contact tracing.

"However, night markets, morning markets, carnivals, Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars are not permitted to operate, as instructed by the Federal government," he said.

As for the social and recreation sector, Amirudin said members of the public were now allowed to exercise in open spaces and community parks while practicing social distancing.

However, Shah Alam Lake Garden, Taman Jaya, and Tasik Cempaka were still off limits for any form of activity.

"All indoor recreational and sports facilities such as swimming pools and gymnasiums are still closed," he said, adding that hiking activities such as on Bukit Gasing were not permitted.

He said the local authorities would be issuing a notice on the list of public parks that were prohibited to the public during the CMCO.

As for the construction sector, Amirudin said they were allowed to operate at maximum capacity, however, companies must prepare Covid-19 Infectious Disease Control Action Plan for their respective local authority's approval.

Amirudin said all these rules must be applied throughout the state, excluding Selayang Baru, which currently was in the red zone.

"All sectors are called to practice good hygiene such as using face masks, wasing hands regularly, and avoiding touching the face."

He said after the announcement of CMCO by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Friday, the state government had meetings to discuss to prepare the guidelines for the state, especially in the economic sector.

Among those involved were the National Security Council, Selangor's Covid-19 Action Room, Selangor Task Force Covid-19, mayors, municipal council chairmen, and local authorities.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said the state government was expected to introduce a comprehensive contact tracing system tomorrow to complement efforts taken by the Health Ministry.
