Selangor Sultan tells his subjects to observe SOPs of CMCO

SHAH ALAM: Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has decreed that his subjects must continue to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

He said the people must protect their safety and health although the Covid-19 curve had been successfully flattened which led to the relaxation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) regulations.

"Alhamdulillah, throughout the MCO phases, we have seen the flattening of the curve and a relative containment of the pandemic.

"With that, the MCO restrictions were loosened with the opening of certain economic sectors with strict SOPs. I would like to remind all rakyat to live cautiously in what can be classified as the new norm.

"This includes only leaving home when it is absolutely necessary, avoid congregating in large groups including breaking of fast gatherings and weddings, as well as adhering to social distancing rules.

"You must always wear a mask when you are out and keep your general hygiene impeccable which includes always washing your hands or using hand sanitisers.

"The elderly and those who are feeling unwell are advised to stay at home," said Sultan Sharafuddin today.

His Majesty expressed concern for the safety of Selangor folk since the pandemic hit Malaysia and he has been monitoring its developments since the MCO was enforced on March 18.

Sultan Sharafuddin also asked that Muslims celebrate Hari Raya with their immediate family members this year.

"Keep it simple without needing to return to the kampung.

"I pray that the situation will ease and we will win this fight against the pandemic. The society must stay strong and work together for us to succeed," he said.

Sultan Sharafuddin also paid tribute to the frontliners for their contributions and sacrifices in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the frontliners on their tireless dedication and hard work that they have put in during these challenging and unprecedented times to ensure that health systems are protected and able to cope.

"Thank you and well done to all the doctors, nurses, ancillary staff of all the hospitals in Selangor, policemen, firemen and Rela.

"We also appreciate the family members of the frontliners for their support and patience," said Sultan Sharafuddin.
