PUTRAJAYA: Pubs, night clubs and bars are still not allowed to operate during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said such premises were considered as entertainment centres, and were included in the negative list.
"Pubs, night clubs and bars are entertainment centres, and cannot open.
"If any such premises operate during the CMCO, we will inform the local authorities, including the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to take action and close the premises.
"There will be no compromise," he told a press conference today.
Earlier this month, Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa had said standard operating procedures stated in the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 still applied despite the relaxation of the MCO.
Those who commit offences could be charged and face a fine of RM1,000 or imprisonment of up to six months, or both.
