IPOH: Those who wish to visit state and local government offices in Perak must first download the MySejahtera app, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said.
Ahmad Faizal said the decision was made in the state Exco meeting today to enable the government to conduct contact tracing on individuals who are Covid-19 positive.
"This application has a QR Code and once scanned, details such as name, address and phone numbers will be recorded.
"Among functions of the MySejahtera app is as a hotspot tracker, where the user can get more information on Covid-19 hotspots. This makes the job easier," he said.
Ahmad Faizal said this in a press conference after chairing the state Exco meeting at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.
On a separate note, Ahmad Faizal also hinted that night market in the state would be re-opened soon for business.
"The Covid-19 situation in the state is under control and it is time for us to allow the night market traders to run their business again.
"However, this matter will be announced by the federal government before June 9 and whatever the decision is, we will follow," he said, adding that standard operating procedures (SOPs) for night markets would also be introduced.
On Sunday, some 4,000 night market traders here urged the government to draw up SOPs that would enable them to resume their businesses during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
Kinta Mobile Night Market Malay Traders Association chairman Jaafar Uthman previously said that since the first implementation of the Movement Control Order in March, their income had dried up.
