Covid-19: 8,915 sanitation operations completed since March 30

KUALA LUMPUR: Some 41 sanitation operations have been carried out in 30 zones in 10 states on Wednesday, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the operations were carried out in Sabah (13), Kedah (7) and Melaka (5).

"Since March 30, a total of 8,915 sanitation operations were carried out comprising 134 zones.

"A total of 12,495 premises have been sanitised which include 2,675 business premises, 5,366 government offices, 1,591 housing areas, 2,509 public places and 354 supermarkets," he said.

On the mandatory quarantine period, the minister said from June 10 until June 24, the Health Ministry screened 5,451 individuals at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Of the total, 5,423 people tested negative for Covid-19 and are undergoing mandatory home quarantine.

"A total of 28 individuals tested positive for Covid-19 and they have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

"On June 24, a total of 358 Malaysians returned to the country from Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China and Japan.

"A total of 356 people were ordered to undergo home quarantine while two others have been sent to the hospital," said the Senior Defence Minister.
