KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has logged three new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the tally of active cases in Malaysia to 182.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the new cases, one is a Malaysian who was infected abroad.
"The two other cases are local transmissions involving Malaysians, with one detected in Selangor during a screening for a pre-treatment procedure for leukaemia; and another in Sandakan, Sabah, during a screening at a workplace.
"There are now four patients in intensive care, and one has been intubated," he said at a Covid-19 press conference today.
With the three new cases, Dr Noor Hisham said Malaysia has 8,637 cases of Covid-19, with the death toll remaining at 121 – unchanged as of two weeks ago.
On those who have recovered, he said 16 patients were discharged today, bringing the number of patients who have recovered to 8,334, or 96.5 per cent.
