PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded three new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the total number of cases nationwide to 8,737.
Health Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the new cases, one was an imported case involving a Malaysian who returned from Nigeria, while the other two were local transmissions.
"The local transmission cases involved two foreigners in Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak.
"The case in Kuala Lumpur involves a person from Myanmar who was detected at the Jalan Duta immigration detention centre before the immigrant was transferred to another detention centre, while the Sarawak case involves an Indonesian who was tested before returning to work," he said in his daily press conference, here, today.
No new deaths were reported today, keeping the death toll at 122.
Dr Noor Hisham said 12 patients were discharged today, with active cases now at 77.
He added that three patients were currently being treated at the intensive care unit with one needing ventilator support.
