KL Courts Complex: Crowd disperse leaving rubbish behind

KUALA LUMPUR: The road leading to the Courts Complex here was littered with rubbish due to the large crowd that gathered since early this morning.

About 1,000 people believed to be Datuk Seri Najib Razak's supporters gathered after they were not allowed to enter the grounds of the complex.

They gathered to show their solidarity towards Najib who faced a corruption trial in relation to the misappropriation of RM42 million of SRC International funds this morning.

Najib was found guilty of all seven charges later in the afternoon.

High Court Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali, who read a detailed judgment, said the defence had failed to raise any doubt against the prosecution's case.

The group had left their food containers, plastic water bottles, cigarette buds, disposable masks, and drink containers along the road.

They dispersed at about 1.17pm but the rubbish were still by the roadside.

It is learnt that about 20 buses of supporters had made their way to the court from all over.

The gathering also courted criticism as it was apparent social distancing was not observed.
