KUBANG PASU: Police have mounted six roadblocks in Kubang Pasu district to curb the spread of Covid-19 arising from the Sivagangga Cluster.
Kubang Pasu deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Chien Chunng Tsaur said this would involve one in Kodiang and five in Changlun.
"The roadblocks are in accordance with the Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) following the recent spike in the number of cases in the district.
"It is also aimed at assisting the Health Ministry in carrying out tests for affected residents," he said at a press conference here today.
Chien said 96 police officers had been dispatched for traffic controls at identified locations, adding that help from relevant agencies would likely be sought in the future.
"All officers will be on 24-hour duty to manage traffic at the affected areas," he said.
Chien said the police would also monitor to ensure that residents adhere to instructions set by the government in the wake of the pandemic, particularly in ensuring that those who were undergoing the 14-day quarantine remained at home during the period.
"We will not allow outsiders to enter this area, while those wearing the pink bracelet (on home quarantine) are strictly not allowed to leave their houses to prevent the virus from spreading," he said. -- BERNAMA
