KUBANG PASU: A total of 53 villagers from 15 families were evacuated to a relief centre after continuous heavy rain unleashed floods in three villages in Malau here last night.
The SK Malau evacuation centre was activated at 11.16pm yesterday after floods inundated Kampung Padang Panjang, Kampung Ampang, and Kampung Lubuk Ipoh.
Kubang Pasu Civil Defence Force officer Mohd Adenin Suhaimi said the agency is still conducting field monitoring and remains on standby.
"Updates will be provided from time to time," he said in a statement today.
In Sik, the district's Civil Defence Force officer Haisul Aishah Mohd Napiah said four houses were flooded as water at Sungai Chepirreached the warning level
"Three homes in Kampung Kemelong and one in Kampung Titi Semang were affected," she said.
Residents in high-risk areas have been urged to stay alert and follow flood warnings.
