THE Melaka Bee Gallery, located in Ayer Keroh, is a treasure-trove of information on all things related to bees.
Located in the Melaka Botanical Gardens (formerly known as the Melaka Recreational Forest), the gallery, which was set up in 2013, not only sells products made from bee honey, but also seeks to educate the public on the hardworking and humble insect.
The Melaka Bee Gallery is an unforgettable experience. Visitors can see for themselves how honey is produced, and they can also view the different types of bees in their natural habitat.
The gallery is operated by Syarikat Seribu Bunga Sdn Bhd. It is divided into several sections that offer a variety of different information such as how to take care of bees.
Visitors will also learn how honey is obtained from the bees.
The objective of establishing the gallery is to spread knowledge to the community related to bees and their habitat.
Gallery manager Aidiasri Abdullah said the gallery produces more than 30 health products based on honey obtained through the breeding of two types of bees, namely Italian bees and kelulut bees.
Among the products available at the premises include Royal Jelly, Propolis, Honey Bee, Pupa, Pollen, Beeswax, Natural Honey, Kelulut Honey, Super Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar as well as various types of bath and laundry soaps as well as shampoo, beauty products and facial treatments and even propolis coffee.
"All the products produced are based on natural honey obtained through beekeeping.
"Of course, all the products are certified to have their own nutrients and efficacy and consumers do not have to worry because everything we produce is guaranteed halal and safe to use,".
According to Aidiasri, Royal Jelly is believed to be able to stabilise blood pressure and blood sugar content, as well as prevent cardiovascular problems such as heart attack and stroke.
"Traditionally it is also used to stabilise cholesterol in the body, help increase fertility, prevent the formation of cancer cells, reduce inflammation, stay young, lose weight, increase body metabolism and overcome insomnia,".
"Honey Bee products can reduce joint and vein pain, relieve back pain, arthritis, improve blood circulation, reduce uric acid and gout problems," added Aidiasari.
The gallery is open from 9am to 5.45 pm daily. Admission to the gallery is free.
