KUALA LUMPUR: The Transport Ministry is reserving comments over a viral video which contained allegations on the Klang Valley Double Tracking Phase 2 (KDVT2) project's recent cancellation.
Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in a statement said the government would refrain from making statements concerning the video due to ongoing lawsuit filed by former KDVT2 contractors against the administration.
Among others, the video alleged the cancellation would lead to significant job losses.
Wee, however, said the KDVT2 project would continue pending a fresh open tender.
"A suit has been filed in court by the Dhaya Maju Infrastructure (Asia) Sdn Bhd (DMIA) and its partner Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) (DMIA-LTAT) against the government on this matter and it is still an ongoing proceeding.
"We shall respect the judicial process and let it take its course.
"We will not respond or make any further comments relating to the subject matter of the suit, to avoid any possible sub judice.
"And we are also urging members of the public to refrain from making further speculations which could jeopardise the court proceedings."
Wee urged the public to refer to the ministry's statement on Aug 28, which said the project was cancelled as it was awarded at an overpriced value through direct negotiations with the then Pakatan Harapan administration.
