PUTRAJAYA: Sixty-two Covid-19 clusters detected in Malaysia are linked to workplaces.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 37 active Covid-19 clusters including the two new ones detected in Sabah and Labuan today.
A total of 230 Covid-19 clusters were detected in the country since March.
"The Health ministry would like to express its thanks to both public and private employers for taking the responsibility in preventing the spread of Covid-19 among their staff and helping to protect the community and high-risk individuals such as the elderly and children.
"The proactive measures by employers done through Covid-19 screening for their staff assisted the ministry in tracing asymptomatic cases and to provide public health activities promptly," he said.
Dr Noor Hisham said employees played a major role in helping the ministry in curbing the spread of Covid-19 at their workplace by complying to the standard operating procedure.
He also reminded individuals to continue practising self-regulation at the workplace and that clean and safe working place should be a norm to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.
