KUALA LUMPUR: The public have been urged to only undergo Covid-19 screenings at private healthcare providers that fulfil criteria and guidelines set by the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said apart from public healthcare centres, sampling for Covid-19 swab tests could only be done by private medical clinics, ambulatory care centres and private hospitals.
He said the number of requests by individuals and employers to have the test done voluntarily have increased following the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country as well as public awareness.
"The Health Ministry would like to praise initiatives taken by employers to have their staff screened (for Covid-19).
"However, the ministry seeks cooperation by the employers and public to ensure that they only engage service providers that fulfil the conditions and guidelines that has been set," he said in a statement today.
He said the list of the healthcare centres is available at http://medicalprac.moh.gov.my/v2/ and the MySejahtera app.
