No suicide in Genting Highlands

KUANTAN: Police confirmed there was no suicide case in Genting Highlands as claimed on social media.

Bentong district deputy police chief DSP Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman when contacted said the video that was shared on social media of two women jumping off a building allegedly in Genting Highlands was an old video, believed to have taken place overseas circa 2017.

The 29-second video showed a woman jumping off a building while another was seen lying down on the ground after jumping off herself.

The video was attached with a claim that the two jumped off a building in Genting Highlands after losing their jobs.

However, it is believed that the true story behind the video was of two sisters who live overseas, both having suffered from depression for a few years before the incident took place. -- BERNAMA
