TUMPAT: Fishermen in the state have been advised against going out to sea following rough weather brought about by the monsoon.
Kelantan police chief Deputy Commissioner Shafien Mamat said the public should also avoid the beach for their own safety.
"Heavy rain has started to hit in some areas in Kelantan since last night.
"I would like to advise the people, especially parents, to stop their kids from going to the beach due to the high waves and rough waters.
"Fishermen should remain vigilant at all times. They should pay attention to the weather forecast and adhere to the rules set by the authority," Shafien said.
Shafien said he had met with other agencies involved in flood operations yesterday on flood preparations.
