REMBAU: A young boy was overwhelmed with emotion when he sat beside the body of his elder sister who was killed in road accident near Chengkau, Rembau in Negri Sembilan on Wednesday.
Kosmo! reported that the boy was crying and repeatedly said: "Kakak, don't leave me."
His sister Khairia Mohd Zamri, 17, was killed in a collision involving the motorcycle she rode and a car at Km 321 Jalan Seremban-Tampin near Chengkau near Rembau at about 8.10pm.
Khaira, who lived in Taman Seremban Jaya, was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Rembau district police chief Deputy Superintendent Shaik Abd Kadar Shaik Mohamed said initial investigations revealed that a 27-year-old man was driving the Proton Persona in the crash. Khaira was riding a Yamaha 135 LC.
"The victim, who worked at a factory in Seremban Jaya, was on her way home to Tampin when she was believed to have crashed into the right side of the car, which suddenly made a U-turn at the location.
"The car is believed to have been trying to turn back toward Rembau," he told the Malay daily.
Khaira suffered severe injuries to her head and body and was confirmed dead at the scene, while the car driver was not injured.
Her body was sent to the Rembau Hospital for post mortem.
"The cause of the accident was due to the car driver's negligence while making a U-turn, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, said Shaik Abd.
