KUALA LUMPUR: With the number of new Covid-19 cases at three digits, the country marks a new record as the number of daily recoveries hit an all-time high of 2,555.
This brings the total number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19 to 49,056 or 80.7 per cent.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there are 935 new cases today including four imported ones.
The total number of infections is now 60,752, with 11,348 being active cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said Sabah recorded the highest number of cases at 326 (34.9 per cent), followed by Selangor (161 or 17.2 per cent) and Negri Sembilan (158 or 16.9 per cent).
"A total of 103 cases (11 percent) were clusters in lockups and prisons involving the Bakti cluster (95 cases), Tembok cluster (five), GK Tawau Cluster (two) and Kepayan Prison cluster (one)," he said in a statement today.
Three more deaths in Sabah were reported to the national Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) as at noon today, taking the death toll to 348.
"A total 110 cases are in intensive care, 45 requiring ventilator support."
