SHAH ALAM: Following the government's extension of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) on Top Glove's workers' hostels in Meru near here, the glove maker said it would give the authorities its full cooperation to flatten the curve of the Covid-19 pandemic
"All Meru factory employees are undergoing a Covid-19 mass screening exercise, while sanitisation of the factories are also being carried out," it said in a statement here today.
The hostels put under EMCO on Nov 17 were slated to have the order lifted today. However due to high infectivity rate and workers testing positive in their second tests after initially testing negative, the National Security Council decided to extend the EMCO by another 14 days.
Top Glove assured all stakeholders that it would continue to work closely with the relevant authorities through this period and adhere to all Covid-19 preventive measures.
The company said that the safety and well-being of their employees and local community was their main priority.
It also thanked the authorities for their guidance and support on the issue.
