Ramadan, Aidilfitri bazaars in KL can open during MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: Aidilfitri and Ramadan Bazaars will be allowed to operate during Kuala Lumpur's 14-day Movement Control Order (MCO) which begins tomorrow.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa announced this today.

Annuar said Ramadan bazaars are allowed to operate from 3pm to 8pm, while Aidilfitri bazaars can operate from 10am to 10pm.

"However local authorities are empowered to shut them down if there are standard operating procedure (SOP) violations," he said in a press confrence in City Hall here today.

He also said while Pasar Malam including the Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman facility would be allowed to operate, SOP for the night market operating in the city will be reviewed.

Selangor had earlier announced that Ramadan Bazaars would be closed however Aidilfitri Bazaars and Pasar Malam would be allowed to stay open as six districts in the state go under the MCO effective today.
