KUALA LUMPUR: A stop-work order has been issued on the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Highway (DASH) construction site following a scaffolding incident this evening.
Projek Lintasan Damansara-Shah Alam Sdn. Bhd (Prolintas), the project developer, in a statement tonight clarified the incident where a metal scaffolding fell on the DASH construction site near Kota Damansara.
It said two Bangladeshi workers sustained injuries in the incident and were taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
"The incident did not involve highway users or the public as it took place within a covered construction area. The DASH Emergency Response Team (ERT) was at the scene to control traffic and remove the metal scaffolding involved.
"Accordingly, a stopwork order at the construction site was issued immediately," the statement read.
Prolintas added that the project developer and the main contractor involved will provide full cooperation to the authorities in the investigation.
"We will issue a follow-up statement regarding this incident from time to time. For the latest information or to send feedback, please contact via email at feedback.dash@prolintas.com.my or call the hotline at 1 300 88 5522."
Earlier, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the foreign workers, aged between 20s and 40s, were rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital by the Health Ministry ambulance.
Norazam said no victim was found trapped in the debris, and said upon receiving a distress call on 7.14pm, a team from the Sungai Buloh was deployed and arrived at the scene 13 minutes later.
