NIBONG TEBAL: Firefighters are carrying out monitoring at a palm oil storage factory in Jalan Changkat, Sungai Jawi, here, which was razed in a fire that almost destroyed the entire premises at midnight last night.
They are expecting the overhaul process to only end tomorrow morning to ensure there are no more fires at the scene.
Nibong Tebal fire station chief Noor Asfariza Mohamad Abdul Kadir said firefighters were worried that another fire may break out due to the huge area which was razed, coupled with strong winds at the site.
She said they received a call about the fire at 12.34am, and when they arrived at the scene, the fire had spread to the palm oil storage area measuring about 4,150 sq m.

"However, we are still carrying out the overhaul process to prevent from another possible blaze," she said.
Noor Asfariza said the situation was under control now and eight fire engines are still at the scene for the overhaul.
