8 PPVs in Klang Valley to accommodate walk-ins

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight vaccination centres (PPVs) will be open for walk-ins for Malaysians and non-citizens residing in the Klang Valley, starting Monday (Aug 2).

The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) in a statement today said the PPVs selected for the walk-in vaccination drive for Malaysian citizens residing in the Klang Valley are:

1. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (HCO F, G and H)

2. Bangi Avenue Convention Centre

3. Wyndham Hotel in Klang

4. Tun Razak Hall in Sabak Bernam

5. Community hall in Serendah

6. Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang

7. Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam

8. Bukit Jalil National Stadium PPV (for non-Malaysian citizens, from Aug 9-22)

These PPVs, said CITF, will be opened for walk-in vaccine recipients who are 40 and above or those with comorbidities from Aug 2 until Aug 4 and for those who are 18 and above from Aug 5 until Aug 22.

As for non-citizens residing in the Klang Valley, they can visit the Bukit Jalil National Stadium PPV from Aug 9 to Aug 11 for those who are 40 and above or those with comorbidities; and from Aug 5 until Aug 22 for those who are 18 and above.

"All these PPVs will be opened for walk-in during the allocated date starting 2pm onwards (subjected to the daily operation of the respective PPVs).

"First-come-first-serve basis will apply depending on the vaccine supply at the PPV. In the event supplies of the vaccines have been exhausted, those who come in for the walk-in vaccination will be put on the standby list to come at the same PPV the following day," said CITF in the statement.

The task force added that Malaysian citizens are required to bring along supporting documents to prove that they are residing in the Klang Valley.

Such documents can be in the form of their address that appear on their identification card or driver's license; utility bills or credit card statements, staff identification card, student card, agreement or other documents.

"Those with comorbidities will be asked to provide proof in the form of medical treatment or appointment card," it said.

Similar requirements, said CITF, are also applicable to non-citizens residing in the Klang Valley.

"For those without valid identification or travel documents, they will undergo a process as per the guideline in the management of the administration of vaccines to non-citizen issued by CITF," read the statement.

It was earlier reported that Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP) coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin had said that the walk-in vaccination would kick off at selected PPVs after the Operation Surge Capacity vaccination programme in the Klang Valley ends tomorrow.

The walk-in vaccination in the Klang Valley is only for those who have yet to get their appointments, have cancelled their appointments or have yet to register for vaccination.
