17 localities in Perak, Pahang, Sabah under EMCO from Aug 8 to 21

KUALA LUMPUR: Seventeen localities in Perak, Pahang and Sabah, will be placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) starting Aug 8 to Aug 21.

Senior Foreign Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the two-week EMCO was decided following risk assessment and trend of the Covid-19 cases at the localities.

In Perak, affected areas are in Pulau Pangkor, Taman Seri Pangkor, Rumah Murah Pangkor, Ladang Kong Heap Lee, Kampung Tengah, Taman Desa Pangkor flat, Taman Desa Pangkor; the Horizon construction site and Batu Gajah rehabilitation centre in Kinta, and another two villages, Kampung Perlok Baru and Kampung Perlok in Batang Padang.

In Pahang, the areas are three localities in Temerloh, namely Taman Sri Layang, Taman Rimba and Taman Tualang Indah, as well as Kuala Tahan, Jerantut.

In Sabah, the involved areas are two localities in Kota Kinabalu, University Condominium Apartment 2 and Rumah Murah Kepayan; Kampung Lohan 1, Ranau.

He said the same set of EMCO standard operating procedures would be implemented.

Hishammuddin also announced the EMCO in Ladang Pelitanah 1 & 2 workers' quarters, Dalat, Sarawak and Bandar Sinsuran, Kota Kinabalu, that was scheduled to end tomorrow has been extended.

"The one in Ladang Pelitanah 1 & 2 workers' quarters will be extended for a week till Aug 14 while the one in Bandar Sinsuran will be extended for two weeks till Aug 21."

He added that the EMCO in Taman Hock Ann, Jalan Klang Lama; Taman Sabana Fasa 1, Keningau; Kampung Berhala and Kampung Melayu Bumiputra, Sandakan; Kampung Nagapas, Jalan Kebun Lama, Papar; Kampung Kolam, Kudat and five localities in Kota Kinabalu, Taman Sepanggar, Block D & E Angkasa Apartment, Kampung Sepakat Jaya, Kampung Rampayan and Kampung Lokub, will end as scheduled tomorrow.
