KUALA LUMPUR: The National Security Council (NSC) will implement the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at 24 new localities in two states starting Wednesday.
Twenty three of these new EMCO directives are located in Sabah, while another is in Pahang.
National Security Council (NSC) director-general (Security) Datuk Rodzi Md Saad said in a statement that the 23 areas in Sabah include Kampung Cenderamata and Kampung Cempaka in Likas; Kampung Inanam Laut; Kampung Bambangan Inanam; Kampung Kelingau; Kampung Lapasan; and Taman Kuala Menggatal in Kota Kinabalu.
The EMCO will also be imposed in Delta Height; Kampung Sindaanan; Rainfield Garden; and the Maju Kota Light Industry Area in Jalan Lama Penampang in Penampang.
Kampung Tanjung Batu Tengah; Taman Ranggu Saujana; Kampung Sungai Tamang in Pulau Sebatik; and Tanjung Batu Laut in Logpon, Tawau, will also undergo the EMCO.
The remaining areas in Sabah that will come under the EMCO are Kampung Pelangi; Kampung Sri Manis; and Ladang Sungai Pin in Kinabatangan; Perumahan Ladang Felda Sahabat 55; and Taman Perumahan Satu in Lahad Datu; Taman Limauan in Kinarut; and Kampung Mondikot in Papar; Ladang Mawang in Kalabakan; and Kem Sawmill Sri Arjuna in Sipitang.
The one area in Pahang where EMCO starts Aug 25 is Felda Kota Gelanggi 2 in Jerantut.
Another 25 localities currently under EMCO in Perak and Sabah will have their orders extended until Sept 7.
Out of these 25 locations, 22 are Orang Asli villages in the Batang Padang district in Perak.
"The 22 Orang Asli villages in Perak are Kampung Senta; Kampung Chang/Kampung Sanding; Kg OA Menderang; Kg OA Batu 6; Kampung OA Batu 14; Kampung OA Batu 16; Kampung OA Batu 17; Kampung OA Batu 18; Kampung OA Batu 19; Kampung Kenderong; Kampung Sungai Rensa; Kampung Sungai Chendon; Kampung Sungai Odak; Kampung Ampangan; Kampung Pos Woh; Kampung OA Batu 7; Kampung OA Batu 7 ½; Kampung Sungai Bot Dalam; Kampung Sungai Bot Luar; Kampung Sungai Tidong, Kampung Lubuk Gaharu and Kampung Woh Intake," he said.
Another two EMCO areas that will have their EMCO extended until Sept 7 are Taman Kinarut Ria in Papar; Kampung Kota Tuaran in Tuaran, both in Sabah.
A separate EMCO directive in Kampung Temalian in the Ulu Dong subdistrict in Raub, Pahang, which was suppose to end on Wednesday will be extended until Aug 31.
Rodzi said the NSC has decided to lift the EMCO at another 10 localities in five states tomorrow.
