KUALA LUMPUR: All private kindergartens for those aged between four and six-years-old in states under Phases 1 and 2 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) are allowed to reopen from Sept 17.
In a statement today, the Education Ministry said this included kindergartens under private, international and expatriate schools and mind development centres.
However, the Ministry stated that the reopening is for children with working parents or working guardians.
"The Ministry, refers to the Prime Minister's announcement on Sept 15 on the reopening of private kindergartens and mind development centres for students aged between four and six in states under Phases 1 and 2 of the NRP.
"The Ministry is aware that there is still confusion, hence, we want to explain that kindergartens under private, international and expatriate schools and mind development centres are allowed to resume operations starting Sept 17 for children with working parents/guardians," the statement said.
The Ministry added that the operation is subject to classroom capacity and physical distancing.
