KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today visited five siblings who recently lost their parents due to Covid-19.
The siblings were Hadrami Mohd Nasir, 11; Humaira, 9; Harraz, 8; Hawwas, 6; and Humaira, 3.
When relating his visit to the children in Kota Perdana, Seri Kembangan on Facebook, Ismail Sabri said he was extremely touched by what had happened to the family.
He said he would give attention to the family and others who had to endured similar experiences.
He said the siblings were currently being taken care of by their grandparents, uncles and aunties in rotation.
"My heart goes out to Hadrami, Humaira, Harraz, Hawwas and Humaira who recently lost their parents due to Covid-19. Only Allah knows the struggles that are faced by Hadrami and her siblings.
"I would like to thank all family members, ministries, agencies, non-governmental orgnisations, private companies that helped. Hope all these efforts are able to help them with Keluarga Malaysia spirit.
"I will continue to give attention to Keluarga Malaysia particularly in similar cases so that they are cared for, especially in terms of education," he said.
The prime minister had visited the siblings after attending a walkabout programme at Perumahan Awam Seri Perak near here.
Meanwhile, Hadrami's uncle, Arriff Hafizan, also posted a status that read: "My nieces and nephews who lost their parents due to Covid-19 today were visited by a special figure, the Prime Minister.
"He is very friendly and loves kids like an Atuk (grandfather). Thank you Atuk."
