KOTA BARU: Covid-19 outreach activities in Kelantan will continue to focus on vulnerable groups including the homeless and mentally ill.
Kelantan health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said house-to-house programmes were held by Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital's psychiatric department.
"The programme started recently and it targets those who could not go to Covid-19 vaccination centres on their own accord, due to mental illness, among others.
"So far, the efforts have shown positive results. The non-governmental organisations have also been a tremendous help," he said when contacted.
As for the orang asli community, Dr Zaini said the participation of government agencies including the fire and rescue department and the army had been a boon.
At the same time, Dr Zaini said the Kelantan health department had set up mobile vaccination centres for workplaces.
"The mobile centres, onboard of modified Mara Liner buses, are deployed especially to rural areas."
