KUALA LUMPUR: The Prisons Department has allowed visitations to resume for inmates in states currently under Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
However, only fully-vaccinated visitors will be allowed on prison grounds with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
The department, in a statement today, said visitors must make bookings prior to their visits through the i-Visit system at ivisit.prison.gov.my, phone calls or by sending email or letters to the prison institution.
"The institution's management will set a date after the booking is made and each visit is limited to 30 minutes.
"Only two visitors are allowed (for each inmate) and walk-in registrations will not be allowed.
"Senior citizens who are above 60 years old will only be granted permission (for visitation) if they are healthy and without any symptoms," read the statement.
