KLUANG: An elderly couple and their granddaughter were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry near Kampung Pinggir in Jalan Johor, Simpang Renggam here this morning.
Md Salleh Kosran, 75, his wife Miskina Naining, 70, and their granddaughter Izzah Shahirah Sahri, 22, who was driving, died at the scene.
Renggam Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Mohd Fauzi Mohd Nor said the department received a distress call at 9am.
"Seven personnel and a fire engine were despatched to the scene. When we arrived at the scene, the victims were confirmed dead and were trapped in the car.
"The victims were said to be on their way to get some medicines in Simpang Renggam when the collision occurred. The driver of the lorry escaped without injuries," said Mohd Fauzi in a statement.
