KUALA LUMPUR: A total 11,557 early voters will cast their votes for the 15th Melaka state election tomorrow, said Election Commission (EC) secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak.
According to him, all 31 early polling centres will be opened at 8am.
"The total number of early voters consist 9,217 army personnel and their spouses as well as 2,340 police personnel.
"Throughout the early voting process, adherence to Covid-19 Prevention Guidelines under the National Recovery Plan such as physical distancing, wearing face masks, use of hand sanitisers, body temperature screening, and recording of attendance will be implemented.
"The early voting process will be witnessed by agents of candidates who are contesting in the election," he said in a statement today.
Ikmalrudin said the EC would also live stream the early voting process on their Facebook page.
All ballot boxes for early voting will be kept in police station lock-ups, he added.
"The ballot papers will only be counted on Nov 20, 2021, starting at 4pm.
"The counting of ballot papers will be conducted at the counting stations designated by the EC and witnessed by agents of the respective candidates.
