MPB honours Ahmad Fuzi, strategic partners

GEORGE TOWN: Media Prima Bhd (MPB) tonight paid tribute to the Penang government, under the stewardship of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, and its strategic partners in the state for their continued support of the media company.

Among them were Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Micron Memory Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Petra Group, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad, II-VI Malaysia Advance Manufacturing Centre Sdn Bhd, Pacific Inter-Link Sdn Bhd, PKT Logistics Group, Atomy Malaysia, Telekom Malaysia, Western Digital and the Penang Development Corporation Sdn Bhd.

Others included UDA Holdings Bhd, Aspen Group, Perikatan Nasional, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pak Mat Western, Venture Corporation Limited, Penang Umno liaison committee, SEGi University and Colleges, Penang Port Sdn Bhd, Penang Halal International, MMC Corporation Bhd and Reveron Consulting.

Speaking during an appreciation dinner held at the E&O Hotel here, MPB group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid said these strategic partners had shown faith in the MPB media platforms and advertised with the company, especially in this year's special feature in conjunction with Ahmad Fuzi's birthday earlier this year.

He said MPB's publication, the New Straits Times, had carried a special feature honouring Ahmad Fuzi, who was appointed as the eighth Yang di-Pertua Negeri on July 9.

"The Yang di-Pertua Negeri has contributed immensely to the nation through his active role in the government. Today, he continues to extend his contributions to the people of Penang, working closely with the Penang government on various statewide initiatives that continue to place priority on the wellbeing of the people while growing the economic stature of the state.

"We, at Media Prima, are committed to continuously extending our media services to the state government and companies here. We have undoubtedly one of the highest audience reach in the nation via all our media platforms.

"Let us continue to work together and enjoy the benefits of this mutual cooperation moving forward," he said in his speech.

Present was Ahmad Fuzi, accompanied by his consort Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor.

Also present was state Trade, Industry and Entrepreneurial Development Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain, representing the state government.

Besides Syed Hussian, MPB managing director Rafiq Razali also attended the event.

According to Syed Hussian, MPB is Malaysia's leading fully integrated media company with a reach that covers the entire population of Malaysia with a strong following throughout the nation.

MPB has leading television and radio stations, popular newspaper brands including one of the oldest in the country, a thriving home shopping company, the nation's number one out-of-home advertising company and a production house that creates content that is being watched by audiences beyond Malaysia.

MPB is also the leader in digital reach on mobile platforms in Malaysia, and ranks third behind Google and Facebook in the nation on all digital platforms.

"Our team at Media Prima Omnia provides more than just advertising sales, they provide media solutions. And we will continue to be here to assist you moving forward," he added.

Syed Hussian said MPB used to organise a steady number of ground events such as the Karnival Jom Heboh and corporate open houses for Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Chinese New Year in the past.

"However, for close to two years, with the new normal, tonight is the first 'big' physical event hosted by the group.

"We do hope for the Covid-19 situation to improve and when it becomes safe to do so, we will be back in Penang with more activities and events.

"We look forward to the continued support from all our friends here," he said.
