KUALA LUMPUR: Frustrations and fear grip flood victims in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam as their pleas for help remain unanswered.
The residents, deprived of food and water, desperately hope to be evacuated before the surging flood completely inundate their homes.
As communication devices of most residents have run out of battery, their relatives and friends are appealing for netizens on Twitter to amplify the distress calls to the authorities.
"Do help my sister, nephews and the entire neighborhood," user @shafeottt wrote.
"Their cars are inundated by the floods. They no longer have food supply. Taman Sri Muda Seksyen 25, Shah Alam," she said.
Her sister, she said, was trapped with others residents at the Mediterranean Apartment in Taman Sri Muda and their food supply would only last until tonight.
Twitter user @xnisxziz appealed for people to help her pregnant cousin.
"She is due to deliver her baby this coming Tuesday but has not received any help so far. Her kids are still small. The ground floor is completely inundated," she wrote.
User @sharweinnn shared that his uncle, aunt and cousins were stranded at Jalan Tertib 25/32 in Taman Sri Muda without food or water.
"According to my cousins, the whole row (of houses) there do not have food. There are many children and ladies. Please help," he pleaded.
User @its_ikaa urged people to help her 14-year-old paralysed brother who lives with her uncle and aunt at Jalan Waja Dua.
"They have not received any help since yesterday," she lamented.
User @Kshwn09 said she was desperately tweeting to draw the attention of authorities to rescue her aunt who lives alone at Jalan Tabah in Taman Sri Muda since yesterday.
She said, her aunt's phone battery had died and she had not eaten anything since yesterday.
Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said 300 flood victims from the Taman Sri Muda area had been relocated to a temporary evacuation centre, as of 8am today.
Amirudin, in a tweet, said the state government also welcomed individuals, especially boat owners, to pitch in and expedite the search and rescue process.
Such assistance, he said, would increase existing assets in rescue boats to continue rescuing flood victims.

Selangor, as of 8am today, recorded 6,242 flood victims from six districts in the state.
