KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has instructed all the frontline agencies that are involved in flood relief operations to provide daily report to Keluarga Malaysia, starting today.
He listed the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma), police, Fire and Rescue Department as well as the Armed Forces as the key agencies in flood relief management.
"The involvement of the government frontliners in managing this disaster must be always on ready mode.
"Providing daily reports will give the right picture of the current (flood) situation nationwide ," Ismail Sabri posted on his Twitter account today.
He said the people must get clear, verified and updated information on the flood situation which had hit several states
The Op Banjir daily press conference, Ismail Sabri, would give the public the latest verified updates on the flood situation and the preparations taken to face the disaster.
The daily press conference kick-started today with Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah at 10am followed by Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Affendi Buang at 12pm, Fire and Rescue Department director-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Hamdan Wahid at 2pm and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Special Functions) Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad at 4pm.
