KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has ordered his Cabinet to return to work immediately to aid Malaysians affected by the floods.
He said ministers who have not left the country for a vacation or other purposes should cancel their trips until the flood condition is dealt with.
He further instructed ministers currently abroad to return immediately should the condition permit to be on the ground helping the public in need.
"I'm instructing any minister who intends to go on a holiday abroad to cancel (their plans) and (call upon) ministers who are currently overseas to return immediately to help our Keluarga Malaysia in distress," he tweeted today.
Triggered by days of heavy rain, the floods have displaced nearly 70,000 people nationwide and the death toll has risen to at least 37.
