RFID lanes available at Juru-Skudai NSE stretch from Jan 15

KUALA LUMPUR: Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) toll payment lanes will be available to North-South Expressway (NSE) Juru-Skudai highway users from 10pm on Jan 15.

PLUS Malaysia Bhd (PLUS) chief operating officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said the launch will see all 83 toll plazas available on the Juru-Skudai stretch equipped with at least one RFID lane.

He said this move will offer more toll payment options to highway customers, in addition to the existing Touch 'n Go and SmartTAG lanes.

"Starting from 10pm this Jan 15, highway customers who have already migrated to the Touch 'n Go RFID platform can begin to use the new toll payment technology on the entire stretch of the Juru-Skudai NSE.

"This launch will enable more private passenger car (Class 1) customers to subscribe to the new mode of toll payment and enjoy seamless as well as contactless transactions via the Touch 'n Go eWallet application," he said in a statement, today.

Currently, there are more than 1.5 million customers who have already migrated to the Touch 'n Go RFID platform to pay toll, with most of them within the Klang Valley.

The Touch 'n Go RFID sticker tags are sold at RM35 each at designated RFID fitment centres across the country. It is also available via online purchase.
