JOHOR BARU: A 47-year-old old man drowned after he fell into a well near his home at Kampung Nesa in Skudai here, last night.
A family member alerted the authorities, after the man allegedly called his mother to apologise to her, prior to the incident.
He was found dead in the 15m-deep well, at 9.41pm.
Skudai Fire and Rescue Department senior officer Saifulbahri Safar said after sizing up the situation, a rescue diver descended into the well.
The victim was found at about an hour later.
He was pronounced dead by the accompanying medical officer.
