RANTAU PANJANG: The Rantau Panjang Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS) is closed temporarily to the public beginning today due to floods.
Kelantan Immigration director Azhar Ab Hamid said the complex closed after it was submerged by floodwaters of about one metre deep following heavy downpour a few days ago.
"Owners of commercial vehicles who want to enter Thailand and vice-versa, are urged to use an alternative route via the ICQS in Bukit Bunga," he said in a statement.
Azhar said the agencies on duty at the complex could not access the building for now.
"The public are also advised to get the latest information on standard operating procedures (SOP) from Thailand authorities before entering the neighbouring country," he added.
The Rantau Panjang ICQS is among three in Kelantan. The other two are in Bukit Bunga and Pengkalan Kubor.
After being closed following the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, the three complexes were reopened late last year but only for commercial vehicles.
