KUALA LUMPUR: Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (TV3) stressed that the viral clip containing steamy scenes from a local drama was never part of the discussion and they never approved it.
In a statement, TV3 said they viewed the matter seriously and that they took note of the views expressed by the public after the clip went viral on social media.
The television station said the scenes depicted in the clip from the drama titled "Perempuan Itu" was not suitable for airing and not suitable for promotional purposes.
"This should not have happened as the content of local dramas must abide by the guidelines set by the Film Censorship Board (LPF)," it said.
TV3 reminded all parties including production teams and actors to be more aware of their actions.
"All concerned parties must be aware of religious and community sensitivities especially when producing creative works," it added.
