KUALA LUMPUR: A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between Pos Malaysia and Saito University College to produce logistics professionals through a learning hub.
Pos Malaysia will provide supervision, mentorship and training for Saito students, and offer them internship opportunities.
Saito will provide 10 full scholarships to Pos Malaysia employees for diploma, degree and Masters courses, while children of employees are offered free foundation programmes.
This collaboration will enable students to transition seamlessly into the workplace, said Saito UC vice chancellor Professor Dr Vinitha Guptan who signed the MoA on behalf of the university at Pos Malaysia headquarters.
Vinitha said the learning hub would enable students to move away from classrooms.
"We need industry experts to guide students, hence our work integrated learning module is unique," she said.
Pos Malaysia group chief executive officer Charles Brewer welcomed the cooperation and said the industry was booming, accelerated by Covid-19.
"We will be on the lookout for the best talent to work with us, those with a passion for logistics and have the right attitude."
Also present were Saito CEO Ooi Chee Kok, The Prime School of Integrated Logistics dean Dr Jenny Wong, and other senior officials.
