KUALA LUMPUR: A leading university has teamed up with a local defence firm to market the former's indigenously developed Tactical Operating System.
The National Defence University (NDU) clinched a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mutiara Teknologi (M) Sdn Bhd (MTSB) for the purpose.
MTSB chief executive officer Abdul Hafidz Win said the product had been developed by NDU's research and development team.
"This system is the most advanced produced by local Malaysian experts with the latest technology.
"The Tactical Operating System is a world-class integrated solution for all operations that offers command, control, communication and coordination capabilities (C4) using multiple clients (Android) to servers (windows).
"This system will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the mission by ensuring that C4 is maintained at all times between the team leader and the team," Hafidz said after the MoU signing at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2022 and National Security Conference Asia (NATSEC) 2022 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Dutamas.
He signed the MoU for MTSB while the university was represented by its vice-chancellor Lieutenant-General Datuk Hasagaya Abdullah, witnessed by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
MTSB had earlier signed another MoU with the Czech Republic's Sieza s.r.o. to enhance perimeter security of strategic facilities.
It comes by way of marketing the Perimeter Direction Detection System (Peridect) for high-security areas and buildings to avoid any physical intrusions from irresponsible parties.
