MySejahtera rolls out new infectious disease tracker feature

KUALA LUMPUR: MySejahtera has rolled out a new feature for users which will enable them to check for infectious disease incidences in their vicinity.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, in a tweet, said the new "Infectious Disease Tracker" feature would show the number of active cases of infectious diseases, such as measles and Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease.

The feature also details the distance of the cases from the user (in terms of radius) and the time of detection.

MySejahtera users will be able to access the feature after they update the application on their mobile phones.

Khairy also advised the public to continue wearing face masks in enclosed spaces or crowded areas and to self-test for Covid-19 if they appear symptomatic.

Since May 1, Malaysians are no longer required to wear face masks at outdoor areas. Individuals are also not required to check-in using MySejahtera before entering premises.

However, the face mask mandate is still applicable for indoor activities and while commuting in public transport and e-hailing rides.

Patrons are also required to show their MySejahtera profile for premise owners to verify their risk status before they are allowed into the premise.
